    gMedleyh

A scene of the film gTerminator 2h has sometimes come up to my mind since I first saw it on screen long before. The scene is the one in which John Conner (a fictional character played by Edward Furlong) and the Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) are about to say goodbye to each other. The colors of the scene in my memory are heavenly, delicate, and waving. No matter how often I have reviewed the movie to search out the colors, however, I failed to find them in it.

In order to represent the colors which would be found only in my memory, Ifve ever tried drawing through the use of such materials as watercolor, oil, color pencil, pastel and so on. Also, Ifve tried various ways of creation, such as the manner of piling up a few or several sheets of tracing paper on the drawings Ifd produced, that of examining through the sunlight, and so on.

While using such materials and ways, Ifve often encountered the transitory, light colors Ifd neither seen nor imagined. The colors Ifd been looking for went away, and the canvases before my eyes seemed much different from the scenes left in my memory. The finished canvases constituted other stories. I think I can let the story go on by repeatedly drawing or painting pictures with the use of various materials, trying to seek out unseen, ideal colors. I may have acted on my works in order to come across such idealized colors and stories.
